Professor Teruyuki Nakajima of University of Tokyo Visited NUIST with Academician

On September 7，Professor Teruyuki Nakajima, from University of Tokyo, accompanied by the double-hired academician of NUIST and also an academician of CAS, Mr. Shi Guangyu, paid a visit to NUIST. Professor Li Lianshui, President of NUIST and Professor Jiang Zhihong，Vice President met them in Room 316 of Administration Building. Mr. Wu Zhongning, Director of the President’s Office , Mr. Zhou Xianglong, Director of Personnel Department, Mr. Yin Yan , Dean of School of Atmospheric Science joined the meeting.

Professor Nakajima is an internationally renowned scientist in atmospheric radiation and climate, serving as a member of WMO, a consultation member of Global Atmosphere Watch Internet, and also a committee member of ICRP. Before the meeting, Professor Nakajima discussed about the cutting-edge academic issues such as atmospheric science, atmospheric remote sensing and climate change, etc., and explored the cooperation space between the two parties with teachers of School of Atmospheric Science. Professor Nakajima thanked the warm reception of our university and was very willing to strengthen the cooperation on scientific research. He also showed great interest in China’s “Thousand Talents Program”.

During the meeting, on behalf of NUIST, President Mr. Li Lianshui expressed his warm welcome and introduced the general situation of our alumni, adjunct professors and international cooperation and exchanges, focusing on the Collaborative Innovation Center on Forecast and Evaluation of Meteorological Disasters and hoped that Professor could join the center and help to develop it better.

During the meeting, Vice President, Professor Jiang Zhihong introduced the recent research of NUIST that focuses on atmospheric science to Professor Nakajima and academician Mr. Shi Guangyu, during which Professor Shi made a simultaneous translation for Professor Nakajima. The meeting ended in cordial and friendly atmosphere.
