Historical Development: School of Economics and Management (hereinafter referred to as “the school”) was established in August 2006. During the last decade, we focus on higher education, take the market as guide, teaching team construction and scientific management as guarantee to deepen the teaching reform, standardize the teaching management and constantly optimize the education environment. The staffs are united and have always been committed to “educating first-class talents, making first-class results and benefits and being the first–class school”. The school has cultivated numerous internationalized, innovative, versatile and applied talents for China and other countries around the world.

          Degree Programs: We have eight undergraduate majors including financial management, accounting, international economics and trade, financial engineering, human resource management, marketing, logistics management and information management and information system, two master degrees of first-level discipline including management science and engineering and business management, and master of professional accounting (MPAcc) in our school.

          Teaching Faculty: The school has built a team of part-time and full-time teachers led by Prof. Donald Rubin (Member of National Academy of Science in United States, former director of Department of Statistics in Harvard University) and Prof. Li Lianshui. Currently, there are 136 people including 114 full-time teachers, among which are 13 professors (including 4 foreign professors), 50 associate professors (including 4 foreign professors) and 51 lecturers. The ratio of doctors of full-time teachers is 90% (including PhD candidates). And there are 5 doctoral supervisors and 54 master supervisors (including the part-time supervisors). 

          Practical Teaching: The Experiment Teaching Center of Economic and Management is one of the provincial experiment teaching demonstration centers and the key construction in NUIST. The center includes seven experiment labs such as Finance and Accounting Lab, Behavior Observation Lab, Human Resource Management Lab, ERP and Enterprise Simulation Lab, International Economics and Trade Lab, Accounting Practice Simulation Lab, Logistics Simulation Lab, and different kinds of top and various experiment teaching software. In addition, our school has established more than 20 intramural practice teaching bases and 12 “Enterprise Workstation for Postgraduate Students of Jiangsu Province”, which greatly ensures the normal operation of intramural internship of undergraduate and postgraduate students. 

          School-running Characteristics：1. More than 50% full-time teachers have oversea study or working experience. Most teachers are in the prime of life and have strong research and teaching abilities. 2. Our School possesses the first-class teaching software and hardware, rigorous and standard teaching management, and several provincial teaching and research platforms to ensure the successful implementation of the teaching affairs and scientific researches. 3. Our School has entered into the cooperation agreements with University of Reading, Radboud University Nijmegen and ESC Rennes School of Business and Missouri State University so as to enhance the level of internationalization of our students. 4. Our School pays attention to the quality-oriented education and strives to improve the humanistic quality of our students. Our School has various club activities which provide better developing platform for improving the overall quality of our students.
