Research Interests
In alphabetical order: algal blooms modeling, biological-physical interactions, ecosystem modeling, geophysical fluid dynamics, marine optics and optical remote sensing, zooplankton dispersal modeling.
My current research is the use of in-situ observations to estimate the influence of the bulk properties of the matter in the ocean (e.g. particulate size distribution, composition, density) on optical properties (absorption, scattering and attenuation). Theoretical studies (Mie and T-matrix methods) are used to investigate dependencies that are tested with data obtained in the field.
A second major area of research is the total suspended matter retrieval from optical remote sensing in the China seas.
