Doctoral Degree Program in Meteorology:

This program aims to cultivate top-notch professional personnel that have a good command of profound rudimentary theories of Meteorology and a systematic and in-depth understanding of its specialized knowledge, and that are capable of carrying out scientific research independently, gaining creative achievements in science or specialized technology, and undertaking teaching, scientific research, operational and management works in high schools, research institutes, administrative departments or other related institutes and departments. Main courses: Selected Lecture of Modern Applied Mathematics, Scientific English Reading and Translation, Research Progress in Atmospheric Science, Professional Literature Reading, Seminars for Frontier Academic Studies, etc.

          Master’s Degree Program in Meteorology:

CAS offers 2 majors for postgraduate students: Atmospheric Science and Atmospheric Science (climatology direction).The teaching goal of Atmospheric Science major is to enable students to have good scientific literacy and solid fundamental knowledge and practical skills of atmospheric science, so that they can engage in research, teaching and managing in the area such as meteorology, climatology, atmospheric physics, atmospheric environment, atmospheric sounding, applied meteorology and other meteorology-related careers. Students majoring in Atmospheric Science (climatology direction) are expected to be equiped with good scientific literacy and solid fundamental knowledge and practical skills of climatology, and become competent in researching, teaching and working in meteorology, water conservancy and resource exploitation departments.
