Research Overview

The staffs received many honors, such as “Norbert Gerbier-Mumm” Award, significant scientific research award by the National Planning Commission, National science and Technology Commission and Ministry of Finance, the first-class award for Sci-Tech progress by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the award for national Sci-Tech progress by the National Bureau of Statistics of China.

 

In recent five years, the school has undertaken a large number of research projects, including 58 national projects, 1 “973” Program, 1 key program of NSFC and other 53 provincial and ministerial projects, where the research fund is altogether 29.2906 million. The school has also obtained 5.7 million central and local joint research platform construction fund. In recent years the school has more than 20 issued patents, published 348 papers which are indexed by SCI (one paper highest cited 83 times), published more than 20 books and edited 5 books for postgraduate. Some papers are published in famous mathematical journals such as Trans. Amer. Math. Soc., Math. Z, J. Funct. Anal., J. Number Theory, J. Algebra., Sci. China Math, where some papers are in ESI high cited paper database and hot paper database which attack extensive attention.

Research themes
All of research activities underpin the School's four priority research themes:
Securityaddresses the causes of security threats, their detection and interventions to prevent damage.
Health Technologiesaddresses all aspects of technology, which can improve the well-being and health of citizens at all stages of their lives.
Energy and Environment (including Space)addresses research into technology towards understanding and conserving our natural resources, the environment, and quality of life.
Digital Societycrosses all of our disciplines with much of our work taking into consideration the influence of what we do in everyday life.
