Established in 1993, the School of Computer and Software promotes high quality studies within a robust academic and learning environment and nurtures graduates with innovative thinking and abilities that relate practical work with theoretical results. The school has one program for PhD candidates in the specialty of Meteorology Information Technology and Security, and two programs for master students in the specialties of Computer Science and Technology and Software Engineering. The school has now 12 doctorial supervisor and 32 masters’ tutors, who are supervising 15 PhD candidates and over 120 master students.

 

The school owns a doctoral degree authorized unit majored in meteorological information technology and security (MITS), two master degree authorized unit majored in computer science and technology (CST), and software engineering (SE), respectively. The research fields of meteorological information technology and security consist of parallel and distributed computing, meteorological information network technology, meteorological data analysis and mining, meteorological software engineering. The research fields of CST include network and information security, IoT/sensor network, intelligent computing, data mining, database and warehousing, image processing and pattern recognition, parallel and distributed computing, and bioinformatics. The research fields of SE can be divided into software theory and services computing, IT service and QoS management, cloud computing and meteorological cloud storage, software development environment and middleware technology, virtual reality and visualized simulation technology, embedded software technology, intelligent computing and software technology.
